Joy George-Bryden, M.S.
Owner/Director
Joy
is an Ace-Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist and a Personal Trainer, Certified
by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and
Conditioning Association. She is a Certified Instructor in the Authentic
Pilates™ Method and a PMA Gold-Certified Pilates Teacher, a Certified
Nutrition Specialist, and a Licensed Personal & Corporate Wellness
Coach. A former professional dancer and NIKE-sponsored fitness spokesperson,
with over twenty years' experience in the health and fitness industry,
her background includes extensive training in exercise physiology, strength
and conditioning, post-rehab fitness, nutrition and stress management,
as well as practical experience in health club, sports medicine, physical
therapy and hospital settings.
Joy is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reflexologist, Certified in Orthopedic Massage and Certified by the National Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Her work incorporates techniques from her training in orthopedic massage, sports massage, myofascial release, trigger point & deep tissue therapy, Swedish massage, reflexology, shiatsu and Thai massage.
Joy completed her graduate work in health psychology and holistic studies after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. Her professional memberships include the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the Pilates Method Alliance™ the Pilates Coalition, Wellcoaches®, the American Psychological Association/Health Psychology Division, and the American Massage Therapy Association. For relaxation, Joy spends time in her home studio producing oil paintings and drawings, primarily studies of the human figure and the body in motion.
